BOSTON, MA- Running for their last chance to qualify in the post-season, the La Salle Track team fared well in their first day of the ECAC/IC4A Championships. The Explorers were led by Rachel Papin's (Philadelphia, PA/ St. Hubert's) who took fourth overall in the 5K (16:40.38) and the men's 4x800 team advanced to tomorrow's finals.
Also for the women senior Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ/ Bishop Ahr) took first in her mile heat (4:53.88) and will run tomorrow in the mile finals, along with Meaghan Hobson (Malvern, PA/ Bishop Shanahan) who took fourth in her 500m heat (1:14.97).
Also competing was freshman Andrew Maxwell (Lemoyne, PA) in the 400m, running a 48.54. David Alfano (West, Orange, NJ) also advanced to tomorrow with a ninth-place 3K finish (8.09.33). The men's 4x800 team consisted of freshman Rollin Deas (Verona, NJ), junior Bill Ceriello (Poughkeepsie, NY), freshman Trevon Rainford (Philadelphia, PA) and sophomore Korey Edwards (Morris Plains, NJ).
