LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ- The La Salle University Track & Field team had a strong showing at the Rider Invitational on Saturday afternoon as Steven Rendall won the 400m hurdle event in a personal best of 54.22. Matt Mitchell won the 5000m race in 15.48.
Highlights of the day also included Billy Rhea, who raced to second in the 400m (48.22). The men's 4x400 won their race in 3:20 with Jared Davis, Rhea, Ashton Johnson, Rollin Deas. James Tchabo won the 200m, second in the 100m race.
Orestes Medina got second in the long jump, and the men's team won the 4x100 (41.54) with members James Thomas, Rendall, Tchabo, and Michael George. Brian Winn got sixth in the javelin.
For the women- Meaghan Hobson won the 800 in 2:17, while Emily Paffett took second in that race. Ruth Brown took second in 100, third in the 200m. Also the women's 4x100 took second, with Brown, Hobson, Kim McIntosh and Jelessa Graham.
The women's 4x400 also took second with Jenna Kipp, Hobson, Paffett, and Courtney McKnight. Nicole O'Dea second in the 1500m.
Also competing were Rider, Saint Peter's, Sacred Heart, Loyola and Delaware.
Quigley will travel to the Mt. Sac Invitational (Walnut, CA) on Friday, April 18th while the rest of the team will travel to Widener on Friday-Saturday, April 19th.
