Explorers Add Four for 2008

April 24, 2008

Head Coach Dave Stever has announced the addition of four student-athletes to the La Salle volleyball team. Jacquelyn Mitrovich, Steph Milovic, Kourtney Clark and Alexis Little will suit up for the Explorers for the 2008 season.

Mitrovich, a middle hitter from Chicago, IL, will join the Explorers after a stellar career at Marian Catholic High School. Jackie served as a team captain during the 2007 season and was named the Spartans' Most Valuable Player. Mitrovich led Marian Catholic in blocks this past season en route to earning All-East Suburban Catholic Conference honors. She has competed for the Celtic Force club team for three years.

Milovic is a right side hitter from Frankfort, IL. At Lincoln-Way East High School, Steph was a member of a Griffin team that won three regional championships, two sectional championships and one conference championship. This past year, she earned team MVP, won the Coaches' Choice Award and was selected to the All-Area team. Steph was a teammate of Mitrovich on Celtic Force, but now competes for Uno. She expects to major in criminal justice at La Salle.

Clark comes to La Salle from Pine Bush High School in Pine Bush, NY. Kourtney, a setter, served as team captain for two years and helped lead the Bushmen to four-straight Section IX Class AA championships. In addition to being named team MVP this past season, Clark earned a spot on the Class AA All-State Team and was named the Section IX Class AA Player of the Year. Prior to her senior year, she was recognized by the Times Herald Record as the `Player to Watch' for 2007. At La Salle, Kourtney plans to major in business with a minor in communications.

Little joins the Explorers out of St. John's High School in Washington, DC. Alexis led the Cadets with 83 blocks and was third with 106 kills and 47 service aces this past season. She ranks among the top 10 all-time in school history in blocks and service aces. The Seat Pleasant, MD native earned All-WCAC Third Team honors in 2007. Little is an active member of the Student Government and the St. John's College High School JROTC Program, which is among the oldest regiments in the nation. A member of the National Honors Society and an honor roll student, Alexis plans to study international business at La Salle.

Mitrovich, Milovic, Clark and Little join early signee Alex Kennedy to round out the 2008 class.
