PHILADELPHIA, PA - In voting conducting by the Conference's head coaches, seniors Emily Bonczek and Jessica Hanson were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team, it was announced Thursday. In addition, Hanson earned a spot on the Academic All-Conference team
Bonczek, who led the A-10 in goals (61), goals per game (3.81) and shots (139), earned a spot on the First Team. She was the lone player in the Conference to reach the 60-goal mark this season and as of April 20th, was tied for the most goals in the nation. Her 199 career goals rank second among all active players in the nation and she is 12th in the country with 215 career points. She also ranked in the top-30 in the country in points (65) and points per game (4.06). Bonczek became just the second player in La Salle program history to reach 200 career points.
Hanson was one of just four players to be recognized on both the All-Conference and All-Academic teams. The senior, who was named All-Atlantic 10 Honorable Mention, has been a force on the Explorer defense over the past four years, starting all but one game during that span. She led the team with 29 caused turnovers and finished second with 34 ground balls. Her 1.81 caused turnovers per game were good for third-best in the A-10 and tied her for 12th-best in the nation. Hanson currently ranks fifth all-time in program history with 119 ground balls. An Elementary and Special Education major, Hanson maintains a 3.69 overall grade point average.
