PHILADELPHIA, PA - The La Salle women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Lafayette on Tuesday afternoon. The Explorers started well, but the Leopards took the final three singles matches to seal the victory.
Rachael Barhart and Lauren Perry teamed up for an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles, but Lafayette won the final two matches to take the point.
In singles, Barnhart got the Explorers on the board with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 1. Perry put up a fight at No. 2, falling to Lafayette's Ansley Scudder, 7-5, 6-4. Martha Kutteh brought the Explorers back, earning a 6-4, 6-4 win in the third position.
Lafayette closed out the match by winning three straight in singles, taking the match by a 5-2 score.
The Explorers return to action when they host Delaware State on Friday afternoon.
