Quigley Qualifies For Olympic Trials at Stanford

PHILADELPHIA, PA- Senior distance runner Sean Quigley's summer plans are taking shape quickly as he qualified for the Olympic Trials and 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 10K (28:03.72) at the Stanford Invitational over the weekend. 

 

The six-time All-American smashed the existing time (set by him in 2007) by 26 seconds en route to the 10K title at the Stanford Invitational over the weekend. 

His time was the fastest 10K time run by an East coast runner in 25 years.

 

Quigley was named A-10 `Performer of the Week' for his performance on the west coast.  The Olympic Trials will be held on June 27th-July 6th in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field.  The top 1-3 runners in the 10K event will go to the Olympic Games in Beijing, China (2008).  The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held June 11th-14th at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
