Track's Billy Rhea Named A-10 Student Athlete of the Year

A-10 All-Academic Teams

PHILADELPHIA, PA-  Complimenting his impressive list of athletic achievements, La Salle fifth-year senior Billy Rhea (Rockville, MD/Good Council) was recognized for his academic accomplishments as he was named the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track `Student Athlete of the Year', in voting conducted by the Conference's sports information directors.

 

Rhea holds a 3.54 cumulative GPA as an integrated science and business technology major (ISBT) at La Salle, and was also named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the fall.  He won the 800m event at the A-10 Championships, and was also a member of the winning 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams.  He has qualified for the NCAA Regionals- to be held on May 30th-31st at the Florida State University- in all three events. 

 

Also joining Rhea on the A-10 All-Academic team are graduate student Adam Woodford (Downingtown, PA/ Robert Morris)- a communication major, and senior James Tchabo (Herndon, VA/ Church Farm School)- also an ISBT major. 

 

For the women senior Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ/ Bishop Ahr) and graduate student Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA/ St. Hubert's) were named to the All-Academic squad.  Lipovsky is a chemistry major, while Papin is in the psychology program.
