Track Report: Day Three at IC4A and ECAC Championships

PRINCETON, NJ- In the third and final day of competition at the IC4A and ECAC Championships, the La Salle Explorers put the finishing touches on a solid outing as junior Steve Rendall ( who already qualified for NCAA Regionals) placed eighth in the 110m hurdles (14.29), besting his 14.53 A-10 Championship time.

Rendall also placed 30th in the 400m hurdles (54.73), and senior Billy Rhea ran to 21st in the 800m dash preliminaries (1:51.88).

The men's 4x400m relay team took 19th (3:16.46), and graduate student Adam Woodford took 24th in the triple jump (13.79m). 

On Saturday James Tchabo finished 30th in the 400m dash (48.48) and Rendall finished eighth in the preliminary 110m hurdles (14.25) to qualify for the finals.   

 

For the women, Meaghan Hobson finished 30th in the 400m dash (56.72).

 

The first day of competition featured freshman Kristina Kubula (Coatesville, PA) finished 10th in the 10K (36.44.82)for the women while senior David Alfano (West Orange, NJ) placed 20th in the 10K (14:36.56).

Senior Joe Dare (Souderton, PA) ran to a ninth-place finish in the 5K (30:42.26), while graduate student Ed Baynes (Pine Beach, NJ) placed 13th (31:12.44).

After taking a week off over Memorial Day weekend, some of the fastest Explorers will head to NCAA Regionals on May 30th-31st at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.
