Winter Garden, FL - The La Salle golf team completed first round play at the Atlantic 10 Championships Friday afternoon at Orange County National.

Senior captain Chris Caimano holed a 75 (+3) on the par 72 Panther Lake Course.  Steve Sieracki scored 78 with Mike Benzinger shooting 82, Wes Licklider 83 and Phil Bruce carding an 86.

The Explorers' team score of 318 placed them 12th after 18 holes of play.

Coming in tied for first were Charlotte and Rhode Island who teamed up to score 278 with Dayton coming in one stroke behind at 279.  The Flyers' Rob Chappell was the top scorer on day one with an eight-under 64.

The three day event continues with an 8:00 AM shotgun start on Saturday and concludes on Sunday with tee times beginning at 7:30 AM.
