Three Graduates Continuing Their Careers

May 23, 2008

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University Women's Soccer team is excited to announce that three of its graduating seniors - Kristin Hextall, Kim Lisun, and Michelle Verzi - have each decided to extend their playing careers after leaving 20th and Olney.

Hextall and Lisun have signed professional contracts to play overseas for the Fjolnir FC - an Icelandic Premier League team. Fjolnir FC is located in a suburban area of the Iceland's capitol Reykjavik.

The league schedule is 18 games long and runs from Mid-May to Mid-September. The pair left on May 14 and will begin playing this weekend.

Also beginning play this weekend will be Verzi, who stayed closer to home as she signed an amateur contract with the W-League's New Jersey Wildcats, who play in Robbinsville. The Wildcats first game is Saturday and their schedule runs through July.

"We are extremely excited to see some of our program's brightest talent continue their post collegiate careers at the next level," said Head Coach Paul Royal. "It's something that each one of them had dreams of doing while here at La Salle and it's great that they can continue to play the game they love so much.

"Their exceptional work rate, drive and passion for the game should give them the needed confidence to excel along side some of the worlds premier women's players. Our staff is so proud and honored to have coached such amazing personalties as Kristin, Kim, and Michelle and we wish them all the best."
