NCAA East Regional Meet
TALLAHASSEE, FL- With a chance to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track National Championships on the line, 10 La Salle University track student-athletes will head to Florida State University to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track East Regional meet on May 30th-31st in Tallahassee, Florida.
"Our student-athletes will be competing alongside other nationally elite runners, I think that says a lot about the commitment they have to this sport and the La Salle program," said Head Coach Charles Torpey.
The top five finishers in each individual event and the top three finishers in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, held June 11th-14th at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Senior Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA/ Archbishop Williams) will compete in his final NCAA Regional, running the 5K event on Friday, May 30th at 9:20 PM. The six-time All-American has already qualified for the 5K and 10K Olympic Trials events and the 10K in the NCAA National Championships- which he placed fourth at in 2007.
Philadelphia native Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA/ St. Hubert's) and senior Christa Plummer (Quakertown, PA/ Palisades) will both run in the women's 5K on Friday, May 30th at 8:40 PM.
