Amherst, MA- The La Salle Track & Field team kicked off the first day of the post-season at the Atlantic 10 Championships, held at the University of Massachusetts. After the first day of competition Joseph Dare finished third and Edward Baynes took sixth in the 10,000m race. Freshman Kristina Kubula had a great day, finishing third in the women's 10,000m.
Both the men's and women's 4x800 relay teams took their respective titles (men 7:32.93, women 9:04.94).
Steven Rendall made his way to the 110m hurdle finals with a strong performance on Saturday. Kim McIntosh sits in sixth in the Heptathlon and will finish tomorrow. Adam Woodford is currently leading in the Decathalon.
In the Steeplechase, the women were solid, as Christa Plummer took second- setting a new school record in 10.42 (six seconds faster than the existing record set by Solomiya Login in 2002). Elizabeth Mayer ran to fourth-place in the event. On the men's side James Holzwarth paced his way to seventh, and Tom Ranalli finished on his heels in eighth-place.
Events will begin for the final day of competition at 8:45 AM on Sunday morning.
