June 18, 2008

PHILADELPHIA - It was just over a month ago - May 11 - when four women's basketball players - Meghan Ahl, Melanie Gibbons, Carlene Hightower, and Alyse Hoover - graduated from La Salle University and they have moved on to future endeavors.

Ahl, who earned a degree in accounting, has already started her post-graduate career, as she is working for KPMG, a worldwide accounting firm. She interned with the company last summer and was offered full-time employment after its completion. Ahl is currently working in one of their New York City offices.

Gibbons decided to continue on an educational path as she plans to attend Fairleigh-Dickinson University: Florham in Madison, New Jersey after receiving her undergraduate degree in psychology. She was offered and accepted a scholarship with stipend to pursue a Master's of Arts degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology.

Hightower, who earned a degree in speech language hearing science, will actually continue her playing career as she recently signed a professional contract to play overseas. She will be suiting up for a Division I club in Germany - TSV Wasserburg, which is located about 35 miles east of Germany's capital of Munich.

After receiving her degree in communication, Hoover is currently interviewing with companies in the communications field.

This senior class finished their careers at La Salle with 54 victories and helped the Explorers to a 19-win season in 2006-07, the most wins at the school in more than a decade.
