PHILADELPHIA, Pa - La Salle University is proud to announce the appointment of Candace Taglianetti as head women's lacrosse coach.
Taglianetti comes to La Salle after serving as the head coach at Notre Dame College (OH) for the past four seasons. Taglianetti, who was named the head coach at Notre Dame College at the program's inception, helped build and maintain the program which ranked in top ten nationally in several statistical categories and did not lose a home game in 2008.
"Candace was an impressive candidate," noted athletic director Dr. Thomas Brennan. "Of particular interest to me was her demonstrated ability to build a program which she accomplished at Notre Dame College."
Upon graduation from Ohio State, where she was a two sport student-athlete and won the school Scholar-Athlete Award in 2002, she became an assistant at Haverford College and was eventually named interim field hockey coach as well.
"We are looking forward to her joining us as head lacrosse coach and are confident that she will help advance the program," said Brennan.
Taglianetti has been on staff at dozens of camps across the country and has earned her Masters degree in Sport and Recreation Management from Kent State University.
She becomes the third lacrosse coach in La Salle history after the sport was established at La Salle in 1998.
