Shooting for Beijing Olympics, Quigley to Run at Olympic Trials

PHILADELPHIA, PA- Fireworks will not be the only thing shooting off this Fourth of July as La Salle’s Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA/ Archbishop Williams) will be racing at the Olympic Trials on Independence Day at 9:20 PM PST (12:20 AM EST) at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field. The event is scheduled to be broadcast live on the USA Network. Quigley’s fastest 10K time this year clocked in at 28:03.72, which led the nation. He ran to sixth-place (29:03.27) in a very tactical NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship 10K race, earning his seventh All-American honor.

Hoping to come back strong for the Trials, Quigley will need a top three finish (including an Olympic ‘A’ time of 27:50) in the 10K to earn himself a plane ticket to the 2008 Beijing Olympics as a member of the U.S. Track & Field Team.
