Philadelphia, PA – The Atlantic 10 has announced its men’s basketball schedule pairings for the 2008-09 season.
It was already known that defending Atlantic 10 Champion, NCAA Tourney participant and Big 5 rival Temple will come to La Salle’s Tom Gola Arena as one of three teams the Explorers will face twice this season along with George Washington and Massachusetts.
Now Explorer fans know they can also look forward to seeing Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham and Richmond at “The Tom” as well. Additionally, La Salle will be the home team in the annual A-10 and Big 5 showdown with 2008 NCAA invitee Saint Joseph’s – a game that is annually played at the neutral site – The Palestra.
The Explorers will hit the road to visit Charlotte, Rhode Island, Saint Louis, Saint Bonaventure, and Xavier along with the road half of the home-and-home series with Temple, G.W. and UMass.
Dates and game times will be announced at a later date.
One week ago La Salle finalized its non-conference schedule which includes 16 teams with NCAA or N.I.T. post season experience in the 2007-08 season.
The Explorers open the season on November 15th with a home contest against Morgan State and will host local power Philadelphia University in an exhibition a week earlier – November 8th at Gola Arena.
