La Salle Volleyball Tops St. Peter's College, 3-2

Jersey City, NJ - After dropping the first two sets, the La Salle volleyball team came back in victorious fashion and seized the final three sets to beat St. Peter's College on the road Tuesday night, 3-2 (21-25, 17-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-10).

Senior Jackie Kushman went on to have a career outing as she posted a match-high 21 kills and a team-high 24 digs. Seniors Christa Dominick and Amy McKeon combined for 21 kills and seven assisted blocks.

Nearing the end of the third set, the score was locked at 17, but McKeon's kill gave the Explorers a one-point lead which ultimately awarded them with their first winning set on the night, 25-20.

From the start of the third set, St. Peter's could not match the Explorers' level of intensity. La Salle totaled more kills in each of the final three sets on the evening, while also posting a match-high .318 hitting percentage (19-5-44) in the third set.

Juniors Danielle DiMarco and Rachel Stemper were both one kill shy of a double-double, as DiMarco posted nine kills, 19 digs and two assisted blocks and Stemper finished with nine kills, 16 digs and two assisted blocks. Sophomore Carly Conlon followed up DiMarco's brilliant performance with one of her own as she dished out a team-high 43 assists and recorded 12 digs.

In her first match of the season, senior Tammi Jones ended the night with 15 digs.

The Explorers (3-4) are back in action on Saturday, September 13 when they host a trio-match at Tom Gola Arena. La Salle meets up with Iona College at 2:00 p.m. and then the University of Hartford at 7:00 p.m.
