PHILADELPHIA - Freshman harrier Tyler Jones was tabbed as the league co-Rookie of the Week, as announced by the Atlantic 10 Conference on Monday afternoon.
The Chalfont, Pa., native earned league honors after a terrific showing at the Old Nassau Run at Princeton University last Saturday. Jones led the Explorers with a second place overall finish in a field of 99 runners with a time of 25:35.60 in the 8K event. His time, combined with six other top 20 finishes, helped the Explorers finish in third place out of 10 teams.
Also released on Monday was the first edition of the USTFCCCA regional rankings. The Explorer men earned a No. 4 ranking in the Mid-Atlantic Region, while the women sport a No. 10 ranking.
Jones and the Explorer team returns to action on September 27 when they head to the College of William & Mary for the Colonial Inter-Regional.
