PHILADELPHIA - Senior Traci DePasquale, who scored a pair of goals and added a pair of assists in a 2-0 week for La Salle Women's Soccer, was honored for the first time ever by the Atlantic 10 Conference on a weekly basis, earning the A-10's Player of the Week award for the effort.
On Tuesday, she was then selected the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Co-Offensive Player of the Week, along with Columbia's Ashlin Yahr.
DePasquale tallied the first and third goals and added her fourth game-winning assist of 2009 in La Salle's 3-1 victory at Massachusetts, Friday, Oct. 9. It was her second five-point game of the season and the third of her career.
She then registered an assist on the Explorers' first tally in a 2-1 victory at Rhode Island on Sunday, Oct. 11, her ninth helper of the year.
With her totals, DePasquale took over the conference lead in both points (23) and assists overall this season and is tied for third in goals (7). After a slow start to the league slate, one assist in four matches, she is now tied for fifth in A-10 only games in points (7) and is tied for third in assists (3).
Her numbers among the nation's top women's soccer players include: tied for ninth in assists per game (0.6); tied for 44th in points per game (1.53); and tied for 123rd in goals per game (0.467).
DePasquale is just one of just seven players in the entire country that has scored at least seven goals and has added at least seven assists, and just one player, Stanford's Christen Press, has reached double figures in each category.
Currently, this season, her nine assists are tied for fourth in a single season at the school and her 23 points are 10th. For her career, she has 27 goals (tied-third all-time), 27 assists (second), 81 points (third), 146 shots (sixth) in 76 games played (third) and 71 starts (tied-sixth).
With the pair of wins last weekend, La Salle moved itself back into the mix in the A-10 standings. The Explorers will host their final games of the 2009 season this weekend, hosting Temple on Friday at 5 PM, and Saint Joseph's on Sunday at 3 PM, which will be Senior Day.
