Student-Athlete Of The Week: Traci DePasquale

Oct. 20, 2009

PHILADELPHIA - La Salle Women's Soccer midfielder Traci DePasquale has been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week after helping the Explorers extend their winning streak to four games, while extending her own point streak to five.

She registered an assist on the game-winning goal in La Salle's 1-0 victory over Temple on Friday evening.

Then, on Sunday, she notched her 11th assist of the season on the Explorers' first goal to tie Saint Joseph's at one all, then banged in the game winner with less than three minutes left to lift them to a 2-1 victory.

Among the remarkable numbers DePasquale is putting up in her final season in the Blue and Gold, both in climbing the single-season and career charts, a few stand out in particular.

First, she is the only Explorer - male or female - to register at least 10 assists in two separate seasons, which spans 24 seasons of Women's Soccer and 61 seasons of Men's Soccer.

Second, she is just the third Explorer to ever tally at least 25 career goals and add 25 career assists. The other two are Hall of Athlete members Cesidio Colasante and Amy Schneider.

The last is the fact that she is just one of four women's players nationwide to have scored at least eight goals and have added eight assists. The other three are Stanford's Christine Press (14 goals, 10 assists), Portland's Michelle Enyeart (11 G, 11 A), and Charlotte's Hailey Beam (8 G, 10 A).
