Box Score

PHILADELPHIA - #14 Stanford scored two goals in each half to defeat La Salle, 4-0, on Saturday at Hank DeVincent Field. The Cardinal improves to 10-1 and has won games in consecutive days in Philadelphia after beating Temple, 7-2, yesterday, on its three-game road trip to the East Coast.

The visitors came out of the gates quickly, firing three shots in a span of 35 seconds during the sixth minute. La Salle junior goalkeeper Emma Ruth came up big, stopping all three to keep the game scoreless.

Stanford got on the board in the 15th minute when Midori Uehara scored her first of two goals on the afternoon. Ten minutes later, Becky Dru found the back of the cage to make it 2-0.

La Salle (4-8) had its best scoring opportunity in the 28th minute on a penalty corner but freshman Rebecca Chylack's shot was saved by Stanford's Alessandra Moss.

Uehara, who had a hat trick yesterday at Temple, added her second goal in the 50th minute and Dru added another goal five minutes later off a pass from Nora Soza.

Ruth stopped eight shots for La Salle, while Moss saved two.

Stanford held a 21-3 advantage in shots and a 12-2 lead in corners.

La Salle will begin Atlantic 10 play on Friday when it hosts West Chester at 3 PM.
