Box Score

SMITHFIELD, RI - Freshman Rebecca Chylack scored the game-winner off a penalty corner with 1:46 remaining to give La Salle a season-ending 2-1 victory over Bryant on Saturday evening. The goal was the 11th of the season by the rookie, the most by an Explorer since Kelly McGahey scored 12 in 1990.

The game-winner was set up on La Salle's 14th corner of the contest. Junior Beth Carey sent a pass to senior Haley Froshour, who stopped it for Chylack, who drove it past the Bryant goalkeeper to put the Explorers on top.

Carey, who had five points on Friday, added three more today. She scored the opening goal of the game in the eighth minute off an assist from sophomore Lindsay Fry and also assisted on Chylack's game-winner.

Carey's 11 assists lead the Atlantic 10 and are the third most in La Salle history. The junior's 17 career assists are fourth on the all-time lists.

The 1-0 lead held up until the 47th minute when Bryant tied the game on Courtney Landi's goal.

Junior Emma Ruth stopped five shots to earn the victory in the cage. Her counterpart, Kundayi Mawema had 11 saves.

La Salle held a 18-12 advantage in shots and 14-4 in corners.

The Explorers finish the season with a record of 8-12. Bryant concludes at 7-11.
