PHILADELPHIA - Junior soccer player Ryan Richter has been named the La Salle Student-Athlete of the Week, as voted by the Office of Athletic Communications.

Richter earned the nod after leading the Explorers to a 4-1 win over Marist on Saturday with four points. He assisted on two of La Salle's three goals in the first 11 minutes of the game, and added a score of his own in the second half.

Richter leads all Explorers with 11 points and is ranked among the Atlantic 10 leaders in several categories. His 11 points ties him for fourth in the Atlantic 10, while he is currently the conference leader in shots taken (33). His four goals ties him for fifth in the conference.

Richter leads a team that has jumped high in the Atlantic 10 rankings since 2008. The Explorers are third in the conference in goals with 19 on the season, just one goal shy of nationally ranked Charlotte. The team is fourth in shots (51) and second in shots taken (142).

Richter and the Explorers head into Atlantic 10 play with a 4-5-1 record, already having doubled their win total from last season before conference play even started. They open the conference season on Friday (10/9) with a 7:00 PM tilt at Duquesne.
