PHILADELPHIA - La Salle men’s soccer assistant coach Kevin Coleman returns to the Philadelphia KiXX roster for the 2009-10 season, his second year playing for the professional club of the National Indoor Soccer League (NISL).
This will be Coleman’s second stint with the KiXX since being a member of the defensive back line in 2008-09. Last season, Coleman registered an assist and a pair of blocks for the professional indoor soccer club and earned NISL All-Rookie honors.
Since graduating from La Salle in 2005, Coleman has assisted head coach Pat Farrell’s squad for the last three seasons.
During his time as an Explorer, the Lansdowne, PA, native was named NSCAA All-American and Regional All-American in 2004-05 after leading his team with 14 points. That year, Coleman was also a benefactor on the defensive side of the field, as he and a strong Explorer backfield attributed to seven shutouts.
Coleman is part of a solid defense for the two-time NISL champion KiXX, and is joined on the team by fellow Explorer alum Jeremy Ortiz ’08 who returns to the frontline this season.
The KiXX season got underway this past Sunday as the team dropped a 15-13 decision to La RaZa de Monterrey. Their home opener is on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Liacouras Center.
