Freshman Rebecca Chylack has been named a Freshman All-American by womensfieldhockey.com. Chylack led the Explorers in goals (11), shots (64), game-winning goals (three) and defensive saves (three). She also tied junior Beth Carey for the team lead in points (25).
The freshman was recently named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and also earned a place on the Atlantic 10 First Team. The Souderton, PA native led all Atlantic 10 freshmen in points, goals and shots and set a program record for points and goals by a freshman. She was also a second team all-region pick.
Her 11 goals were the most by an Explorer since 1990 and her 25 points, third all-time in a season at La Salle, are the most since 1980.
Chylack was the only Atlantic 10 player to be named to the womensfieldhockey.com Freshman All-American team.
