PHILADELPHIA - Senior defender Ryan Tadley (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) picked up another honor as he was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team.

Tadley wrapped up his career on the pitch at La Salle this fall. He is a Soccer Six All-Star pick and was named the team's Most Valuable Player for a second straight year.

Earlier this month, he earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-East Region honorable mention also for the second consecutive year.

On the field, Tadley led an Explorer defense that posted four shutouts in 2009 and picked up six wins. He scored his first collegiate goal from the backfield in a contest at Adelphi this past September.

The all-area team requires that a player be a starter or significant reserve and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average, and is voted on by the city's sports information directors.
