PHILADELPHIA – As a result of her performance at the Bucknell Trials this past weekend, senior Shannon Duval has been named the Atlantic 10 Women’s Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week and La Salle Student-Athlete of the Week.
This marks the second A-10 award of the season for Duval, who was also recently named the La Salle Student-Athlete of the Month for November.
In the Bucknell Trials this past weekend, she recorded two school records and picked up an NCAA “B” qualifying time.
On Friday, Dec. 4, Duval swam a leg on the second-place 200-yard free relay team (1:36.06) and 400-yard medley relay team (3:53.08). Duval set a school record in the 200-yard IM with her second-place time of 2:04.08.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, she set another school record with her preliminary 100-yard breast time (1:03.16) and then placed second in the event’s final heat (1:03.81).
Duval recorded an NCAA “B” qualifying time on Sunday with her second-place finish in the 200-yard breast (2:15.15).
The Explorers return to action in January as they prepare for the Rhode Island Invitational.
