DURHAM, NC - La Salle University Baseball opens the 2009 season this weekend with a four-game set over three days when the Explorers take on the Duke Blue Devils starting Friday with a 3 PM start.

They will continue with a double header on Saturday starting at 12 PM and conclude it Sunday with one game, first pitch also at 12 PM.

La Salle will look to continue its success it enjoyed to end the 2008 season, in which it finished 12-11 after April 5. It will be tough, as the Explorers take on an ACC foe that won 29 games at home a year ago on its way to a 37-win season.

The Explorers have only faced the Blue Devils twice in their history, losing both games during the 2006 season, 4-1 and 19-3.
