Men's Distance Medley Relay Team Leads Explorers on First Day of Geigengack Invite

PHILADELPHIA - The men's distance medley relay team led the Explorers in the first day of the two-day Geigengack Invitational at Yale University on Friday.

The DMR team - comprised of freshmen Nick Crits, Terence McPeak, David Laratta and Sean Mallon - ran an IC4A time of 10:03.54 to capture second place in the nine-team field. The very competitive race saw seven of the nine squads run qualifying times.

On the women's side, Mary Clare Parrott led the effort with a first place finish in the 5,000 meter run. Parrott clocked an 18:43.19 to top the four-runner field.

Jalessa Graham and Kyla Jones also turned in strong performances in the 200 meter dash. Graham won her heat with a 26.16 mark for sixth overall out of 45. Jones crossed the finish line in 26.64 for 17th place.

The rest of the Explorer squad returns to action at Yale tomorrow for the concluding day of the meet.
