Philadelphia, PA - La Salle University Hall of Athletes inductee and member of the 1952 National Invitational Tournament champion Explorers Charles "Buddy" Donnelly will be among a dozen Philadelphia sports figures inducted into the City All-Star Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Thursday night.
Donnelly, who played at La Salle from 1948-52, was inducted into the Hall of Athletes in 1992. He was a team captain and was considered one of the best defensive guards in the East during the Explorers' championship run in which they defeated Dayton in the 75-64 in the NIT Final and then advanced to the Olympics Trials.
Included in the induction class are television and radio personality Howard Eskin, long time NBA official Steve Javie, and media luminary from the Associated Press Jack Scheuer, among others.
The induction will take place on Thursday night at 6:00 PM at Dugan's (7900 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia). Tickets and reservations can be made by calling 610 941-6222.
