Complete All-Conference Selections
PHILADELPHIA - The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced the 2008-09 Women's Basketball All-Conference selections and La Salle University's Morgan Robertson earned a spot on the All-Academic Team, as voted on by the league's 14 head coaches.
Robertson becomes just the third Explorer named to the A-10 Academic Team, joining only Jen Zenszer (2000-01) and Carrie Jewett (1997-98) as the only other honorees.
Among the numbers put up by the junior this season, she was one of just two players to start all 29 games this year for the Explorers - and has a streak of 44 straight. She led the team in scoring (12.3 ppg - 13th in the A-10), rebounding (8.1 pg - 6th), field goal percentage (43.3%), and free throw shooting (80.2% - 4th).
She notched 11 double-doubles this season, tied with Jenny McGowan (1992-93) for the most at the school in a single-season in 27 years. She tied for second in the A-10 overall and her five in league-play was also second.
Robertson scored in double figures 20 times, leading the team on 12 occasions, including a career-high 26 points versus Charlotte (Feb. 14). She grabbed at least 10 rebounds 12 times, leading the team 21 times, including a career-high 19 versus Radford (Nov. 29).
The 236 rebounds she pulled down this year was the most by an Explorer since La Salle's first year in the A-10 Conference - Chrissie Donahue, 1995-96, 239.
The Political Science and Psychology major currently holds a 3.87 GPA and was already named a regional Academic All-American earlier this year.
