PHILADELPHIA, PA- La Salle Student-Athletes have been visiting Logan Elementary School to host team sport clinics throughout the semester. La Salle's Lacrosse team took their opportunity to teach the Logan students the important skills of their sport. The gym class was packed with drills and games that taught the kids different fundamental skills and techniques used during lacrosse games and practices.
Last year, Lacrosse was introduced to the PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) as one of the new sports. Mark Gilinger, the Logan gym instructor, thought it would be a great idea to expose his student students to the sport. Gilinger said, "Only a few schools in the city are teaching lacrosse. It caught on really fast with the classes that I teach. The enthusiasm the children have for this new sport is amazing".
