PHILADELPHIA, PA - La Salle University men's basketball junior Rodney Green (Philadelphia, PA/Prep Charter) has been named to the District 4 Second Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Green is the Explorers' leading scorer with an average of 17.4 points per game. He also leads the team with 102 assists and averages five rebounds per game. In the Explorers' 97-88 win over Massachusetts on Sunday, Green set a career high by scoring 30 points.
He has been named Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week three times this season.
He is currently the Explorers' 26th all-time leading scorer and is projected to finish as high as ninth on the La Salle all-time list.
The NABC announces recognizes the nation's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, they represent the finest basketball players across America. The 240 student-athletes, from 24 districts which were realigned this season, are now eligible for the State Farm Coaches' Division I All-America teams.
The NABC names two teams of ten players from each district.
The Explorers will conclude their season on Saturday night in Saint Louis with an Atlantic 10 match-up with the Billikens at Chafeitz Center.
