PHILADELPHIA - The women's cross country team earned All-Academic Team status by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as announced on Thursday.
The Explorers compiled a 3.17 team GPA in the fall semester and the young squad placed 12th out of 26 teams at the NCAA Regional meet, the highest out of the Atlantic 10 teams competing. Freshmen Caitlin Storbeck and Stephanie Bearish led the regional meet effort by finishing 42nd and 44th overall out of 180 runners.
Senior Mary Clare Parrott, who finished third among the Explorers and 84th overall, helped lead the classroom effort. Parrott owns a GPA of over 3.5 in the biology program.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team honor, teams must have competed in the NCAA Regional meet and compiled a team score, as well as compile a team GPA of at least 3.0
