PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle track and field team wrapped up competition at the ECAC and IC4A Championships in Boston on Sunday. Several student-athletes competed in the event finals that they qualified for on Saturday.
On the men's side, Korey Edwards, Steven Rendall and the distance medley relay team were in action. Sean Mallon, Andrew Maxwell, Trevon Rainford and Sean Ward combined to run a season-best 9:49.83 - just four seconds off the school record - to capture fourth place in the distance medley relay.
Edwards, who placed first in yesterday's preliminary with a near-school record time, finished ninth in the final with a time of 2:30.58.
Steven Rendall competed in the semifinals of the 55 meter hurdles, where he placed 11th with a 7.62 mark.
The women's distance medley relay team of Samantha Gallagher, Courtney McKnight, Meaghan Hobson and Caitlin Storbeck finished first in their heat and sixth out of 16 teams with a time of 11:56.59 in Sunday's final.
The women's team finished 35th out of 50 in the team standings with six points. The men finished 40th out of 48 with five points. Duke captured the women's title while Albany won the men's title.
