PHILADELPHIA, PA - La Salle University men's basketball team will open the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championships on Wednesday at noon when they take on Saint Louis at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ.
The Explorers, who finished tied for fifth in the A-10 but drew the No. 8 seed by virtue of the various tiebreakers, will put their season-high four game winning streak on the line just four days after rallying from a 14-point defeat to upset the ninth-seeded Billikens, 68-62, on Saturday night in St. Louis, MO.
The Explorers and Billikens will be the first game of the 2009 Championships which is being hosted in Atlantic City for the third year.
La Salle finished the season 18-12 and 9-7 in A-10 play. The Billikens come in 17-13 overall with an 8-8 conference mark.

La Salle will host an alumni event at GAME ON located at The Shops at Caesar's immediately following the game on Wednesday.
The winner of Wednesday's match-up will take on top-seeded Xavier on Thursday, also at 12:00 PM.
