PHILADELPHIA - Several members of the La Salle track and field team competed on the second day of the prestigious Penn Relays at Franklin Field on Friday. The men's 4x100, 4x400 and distance medley relay squads ran today.

Jared Davis, Andrew Maxwell, David Laratta and Rashad Little combined for a 3:19.48 in the 4x400 relay. Their mark earned them fourth place out of eight teams, and was less than two seconds off of the IC4A time.

The distance medley relay team of Trevon Rainford, Andrew Maxwell, Terence McPeak and Korey Edwards ran a 9:51.94 for ninth place out of 12 in the championship level race. Their mark was among the highest out of all teams running a distance medley on Friday.

Also in action was the men's 4x100 squad. They clocked a 43.14 for seventh in their heat and 58th out of 86 overall in the event.

The Explorere wrap up their stay at the Penn Relays on Saturday. The men's 4xMile is scheduled for 1:00 PM, the women's 4x800 at 2:00 PM and the men's 4x800 at 4:25 PM. The rest of the Explorer squad will compete at the Lions Invitational at The College of New Jersey.
