PHILADELPHIA - Both the men's and women's 4x800 meter relays hit qualifying times on Saturday during the final day of the prestigious Penn Relays.
The men's 4x800 squad of Terence McPeak, Rollin Deas, David Laratta and Joe Fedorowicz hit an IC4A time of 7:41.09 for 21st place out of 31 teams. The very competitive race saw the top 24 teams run IC4A times.
The women's 4x800 team of Kellilyn Fierras, Caitlin Storbeck, Meaghan Hobson and Emily Paffett clocked a 9:01.73 in qualifying for the ECAC's. They placed 10th overall out of 29 teams in a race that saw the top 19 run ECAC-qualifying times.
Also running on Saturday was the men's 4xMile. Trevon Rainford, Sean Mallon, Sean Ward and Korey Edwards combined for a 16:46.00 for ninth place out of 11 in the championship level race.
The rest of the Explorer squad was in action at The College of New Jersey. The Explorers were led by Courtney McKnight's second place finish in the 800 meter run. Complete recap to follow pending release of final results.
