PHILADELPHIA - Senior distance runner Christa Plummer earned Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week honors for her 5,000 meter performance at the Penn Relays last week.

Plummer ran a 16:38.49 in the 5K championship race at the historic Penn Relays on Thursday evening. Her time qualified her for the NCAA regional meet, held in Greensboro, N.C., on May 29-30. She finished 13th out of 35 runners in a race that featured 17 NCAA qualifiers and 28 ECAC qualifiers.

In addition to her 5K qualification, she previously ran a NCAA provisional time in the 10K earlier this season.

Plummer and the rest of the Explorer squad head to the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday and Sunday (5/3 and 5/4), held at Charlotte.
