PHILADELPHIA, PA- For the third year in a row the La Salle’s Men's Soccer Team traveled to the Northeast section of Philadelphia to visit St. Hugh’s School. Head Coach Pat Farrell easily connected with the St. Hugh’s students for he was once a student there and also a nearby resident.
Before the clinic was underway, Coach Farrell stressed the importance of extra-curricular activities such as soccer. He also relayed the message that with enough hard work and persistence they could become great athletes. Farrell proved his point by introducing them to the Men’s Assistant Soccer Coach, Kevin Coleman, who played professionally and also told them about recent La Salle University graduate, Jeremy Ortiz, who also plays professionally.
This activity was a big change from their normal gym class. The students of St. Hugh's Elementary had a chance to experience what it takes to be a Division 1 soccer player, taking part in different drills and games that helped sharpen their skills.
