Explorers Add Another Player to 2009 Roster

May 4, 2009

Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle volleyball program recently announced another addition to its 2009 roster. Kelly Scanlon, a native of Armonk, NY, has signed her National Letter of Intent and will join the team this upcoming season.

Scanlon comes to La Salle after playing three years of volleyball at Byram Hills High School. As a senior, she was named the league and conference Player of the Year while also being named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Week for October 12 in New York.

At Byram Hills, Scanlon was a two-time team MVP, a two-time Section I “Super 70” Team selection and a two-time All-Section/All-League honoree. As a sophomore, she was tagged as the team’s Most Improved Player and, as a junior, was nominated All-State.

According to maxpreps.com, her 5.6 kills per game ranked her first in New York and eighth in the nation.

Aside from high school competition, she has participated on the Downstate Juniors Volleyball Club Team and the Hudson Valley Scholastic Women’s Empire State Team.

Scanlon will join Lauren Noga and Breanna Mazalewski as the newest members of the La Salle volleyball team.
