Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle lacrosse program recently announced two more additions to its 2010 roster. Jackie Donato and Maura Malone will be two of 10 Explorer freshmen on the lacrosse team next spring.
A native of Malvern, PA, Donato was a two-sport athlete (lacrosse, soccer) at Bishop Shanahan High School. Under Head Coach Kevin Goforth, she was a three-time Lacrosse Ches-Mont Honorable Mention, a two-time team captain and a two-time team MVP.
Donato, a member of the SEPA 2009 Club Team, is an honor student who is active with the Community Service Club (CSC) and the Respect Life Club.
Malone was a two-year member of the All-Midwest Tournament Team while picking up All-Catholic and All-Area honors at Mercy High School. The Farmington Hills, MI, resident was also a multi-sport athlete in high school.
Between lacrosse, ice hockey and golf, Malone totaled eight varsity letters.
As a member of the ice hockey team, she was a two-time Second Team All-State and All-Catholic selection and was tagged as the Michigan Female Hockey Scholar Athlete of 2008-09. Malone is a member of the National Honors Society and the Pastoral Ministry.
Joining Donato and Malone as freshmen next year are Lauren Chatham, Lauren McDermott, Audrey Metzger-Bailey, Jackie Roebuck, Amanda Salata, Melanie Sarcinello, Cara Wood and Ryan Yankowich.
