PHILADELPHIA - Graduated senior Christa Plummer earned yet another honor on Monday as she was named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Assocation (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team for the 2008-09 season.
Plummer is one of 531 Division I student-athletes who earned the honor. To qualify for the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have compiled at least a 3.25 GPA and meet the NCAA automatic, provisional or regional standard for their event(s).
Plummer wrapped up a standout career with the Explorers. This year's Atlantic 10 Co-Performer of the Year took home two conference crowns by winning both the 5,000 meter and 10,000 meter races. During the indoor season, she repeated as the conference 3,000 meter champion. Plummer qualified regionally in the 5,000 meter run and ran at the NCAA Regional meet after hitting the regional standard three times. She ran an NCAA provisional time in the 10,000 meter run at the Stanford Invitational in March.
Plummer was also named La Salle's Female Senior Student-Athlete of the Year. She graduated in May with a degree in Biology.
