STRATHMERE, NJ - La Salle alumni of all ages gathered for an alumni association reception by the bay at the Deauville Inn on Sunday, August 30 in Strathmere, NJ. Dr. John Giannini, Head Men's Basketball coach, was the featured speaker, addressing the crowd about the upcoming season. After Coach Giannini spoke he opened up the floor for questions and guests did not hesitate to ask about the team and his aspirations for the 2009-10 season.

Explorer Club President, Ken Mancini '69, and new Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, Kale Beers '95, took the opportunity to speak to the group about a few short-term and long-term strategies that will be implemented in the coming months. Most importantly, Mancini and Beers pointed out the benefits of becoming apart of the Explorer Club and how instrumental the booster club's support is to the 22 teams that makeup the athletic department.

Attendees had the opportunity to mingle with former Alumni Association Presidents, Mike Diccicco '71 and Jim Ahern '70, and were introduced to the new president, Meg Kane '03. Director of Athletics and Recreation, Dr. Tom Brennan, was also on hand to discuss the current and future state of La Salle athletics with the group of alums who made the trip to the shore.

In addition to enjoying the energetic speakers, great weather, hors d'oeuvres, and live music, guests received a variety of La Salle athletic apparel, university stickers, and t-shirts, as well as insight on La Salle athletics.
