REHOBOTH BEACH, DE - Sophomore Randy Kazinsky tied for 21st in the 75-player field to lead the La Salle golf team to an 11th place finish at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational on Monday at King's Creek Country Club. Kazinsky shot a 77-75=152 (+10) to pace the Blue and Gold for the second straight tournament. After opening the day with a team-score of 332, La Salle bounced back in the afternoon with a 321 with three players firing scores in the 70s.
Junior Sam Venuti shot a 75 after a morning round of 84 to tie for 43rd with a 159 (+17). Sophomore Tyler Batory carded an 82-79=161 (+19) to tie for 48th, while Joe Taorima finished 73rd with a 92-89=191 (+39) to round out the scorecard.
Navy took team honors, carding 301-286=587 to defeat Penn by two strokes; the Quakers went 300-289=589. Wesley College was third, with a 300-295=595.
Penn freshman Colin St. Maxens was the individual medalist, carding 71-71=142 to defeat Monmouth's Ian Thimble by a stroke. It marked the third straight year a Penn player has won the individual title at this event.
