The National Center for Drug Free Sport Visits La Salle

PHILADELPHIA – Speaker Kathy Schniedwind, ATC, from the National Center for Drug Free Sport, visited La Salle on Thursday, Sept. 3, to educate and inform Explorer student-athletes on the dangers of alcohol and drugs.

Schniedwind, a former three-sport athlete from Westchester University, broke down the various categories of illegal substances and explained all the different effects. Some of her key points included: alcohol, drugs, tobacco, performance-enhancing substances (anabolic steroids), dietary supplements and energy drinks. Schniedwind also went on to discuss the strict NCAA Drug Testing Program and the steps the NCAA takes to test student-athletes.
