PHILADELPHIA - La Salle freshman Aaric Murray has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Sunday. Murray averaged 17.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game to earn his third rookie honor of the season.

The 6-foot-10 center scored a career-high 24 points on Wednesday in an 80-73 victory at Fordham. It was the fourth time in the previous seven games that he had set a new career-high in points. He shot 9-for-18 from the floor and blocked four shots.

On Saturday at Temple, Murray battled foul trouble to score 11 points in a 64-52 loss to the #15 Owls.

He shares the award with Fordham's Chris Gaston.

The Explorers (11-10, 3-4 A-10) are back in action on Tuesday when they host Rhode Island at 7 PM.
