Student-Athlete of the Week: Jamie Walsh

PHILADELPHIA - La Salle Women's Basketball senior Jamie Walsh has been named the school's Student-Athlete of the Week after helping the Explorers to a pair of wins this past week.

She scored a game-high 15 points and added a game-high five assists along with three rebounds and a steal in the Explorers 65-51 victory versus Holy Cross on Tuesday. Walsh knocked down five three-point baskets in the contest, tying her season high and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Hawk Holiday Classic presented by Staybridge Suites and Hotels.

Against Penn on Saturday, she scored a season-high and game-high 18 points, knocking down four three pointers and added two assists, two rebounds, and one steal in La Salle's 67-51 victory.

For the week, she averaged 13.3 points, 3.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds, and shot 62.5 percent from the floor (15-24) and from behind the arc (10-16).

Walsh now has 170 career makes from three on 447 attempts. She just passed Jennifer Cole (1989-93) on the all-time makes list and is just four behind Jen Zenszer (1997-01), who is second all-time at the school with 174, and Meghan Wilkinson (2001-05), who holds the all-time record with 175. Walsh is five attempts shy of passing Cole for fourth place on the attempts list.

She was also just recently named to the La Salle Team of the Decade, complied by Women's Hoops Guru Mel Greenberg of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
