PHILADELPHIA - Senior Ryan Richter has been named the La Salle Student-Athlete of the Week, based on a vote by the Office of Athletic Communications. He earns the honor for the second straight week.

Richter scored both goals in Friday's 2-1 win over Fordham to open the Atlantic 10 season. He scored on a penalty kick in the sixth minute, before netting the game winner with just 59 seconds remaining in regulation.

Richter has now scored four goals in the past three games, including game-winning goals in three straight games. He leads the team with 15 points on seven goals and one assist, and his seven goals already ties him for his goal output in all of 2009. His seven goals, 15 points and 49 shots all lead the Atlantic 10 in those categories.

Prior to his two goals against Fordham, he scored both goals in a pair of 1-0 wins over Saint Joseph's and Temple on Sept. 29 and Oct. 2.

Richter and the rest of the Explorers are back in action on Friday (10/15) when they host St. Bonaventure at 7:00 PM.
