Senior field hockey player Rachel Deaner is the latest student-athlete to be featured in the "Getting to Know" series. She is a three-year starter that anchors the Explorer defense.

Why did you choose La Salle? Because I wanted to major in education and I knew that La Salle has a very demanding but reputable education program.
Describe yourself in one word: Active
Why did you pick your jersey #? Number five was taken, so I picked 10 because it was 5+5.
One phrase to describe Coach Marks? Committed to making us be the best we can be.
People might be surprised to know that… I have two miniature dachshund's that I am obsessed with!
What are your off the field hobbies and interests? Relaxing, shopping, seeing new places, and eating.
What is the best advice you have received? Give 110% in everything you do.
Highlight of your La Salle career thus far? Getting to play with my younger sister, Jessica, my senior year!
Goals for the rest of the 2010 season? Win games and make it to the A-10 Tournament!
Who influenced you to get involved with field hockey? My middle school coach, Ed Kirkwood.
Who is your funniest teammate? Kelly Meehan
Place you would most like to vist/or favorite vacation spot? Europe- England, France, and Italy.
